Making a Difference as Easy as 1, 2, 3

ShowerUp, Jumbled Dreams, Changing Lives, Homelessness

According to the United States Census Bureau, in 2017 Williamson County in Tennessee ranked as the 7th wealthiest county in the U.S. While the majority of the people in Williamson county have what they need to survive, only 15 minutes away from their homes there are people who are suffering. The homeless in Nashville do not have the basic needs. Many of them live on the river bank or under a bridge because they have no other place to live.

An organization called ShowerUp provides a mobile shower unit for the homeless in Nashville. In addition, ShowerUp provides toiletry items, a haircut (if wanted), food, water and friendly faces who are willing to listen and talk!

Woodland Middle School recently gathered over 5,000 items for ShowerUp!  The students enjoyed collecting the items! Our founder Sydnee headed the collection, and she encouraged the students to participate in the drive so they could make a difference in the lives of others!

“Seeing so many students come together giving and wanting to help others is something that I was meant to see and do.”

Sydnee, Founder of Jumbled Dreams

“All of us with ShowerUp are absolutely blown away at how Sydnee organized Woodland Middle School to do a collection for the homeless. Because of her leadership and passion, 5,526 toiletry items were collected. We are so proud of Sydnee and Woodland Middle School, and we are so thankful for the support of ShowerUp!”
