All week my mind has drifted back to Monday night when we were on the streets of Nashville with Jumbled Dreams and Echos 4 Hope.
I remember –
The little girl who was four years old running around with the biggest sweetest smile on her face;
The veterans from the United States Army who had served and defended our country but now didn’t have a home and had nowhere to go;
The stories from those who were on the streets because they were trying to get away from abusive situations;
The rugged, scared faces that are that way because they need love;
The children that were SO excited to play with a yo-yo, and I rolled it back up a million times to see them smile;
The word search books that they begged for to keep their mind sharp and their thoughts distracted from their current situation;
Those who stood patiently inline for a ziploc bag of travel size toiletries and a cookie only to find out when it was there turn, we were all out because I didn’t raise enough funds to purchase what they needed.
It’s heartbreaking. Something has to be done. I can’t do it alone. Would you help?
