Cleaning For a Cause

Throughout this pandemic, the need for cleaning supplies has become more valued and scarce. Here at Ravenwood, about 1,500 students attend school every day and with that, the school hopes to keep students safe and healthy. Although a mask is a great way to stay healthy, Sydnee (Founder of Echos for Hope) thought of a great idea to implement regular sanitation which will benefit everyone here at Ravenwood! One Friday during the month of September, 25 echos for hope members came together and made Clorox wipes which were then distributed to every classroom. Members made an assembly line in the commons of the school; they all took rotations and participated in roles in the assembly line. While the underclassmen helped poor sanitation chemicals into the baby wipes, upperclassmen helped by placing thoughtful notes on the sanitation wipes along with writing “Clorox Wipes” on the packages. This process took over an hour even with the help of 25 members! The following day, Sydnee Floyd (President) , Megan Kalvala (Vice President), Sam Fitch (Liaison/ Spokesperson), and a few new Echos for Hope members, helped distribute hundreds of Clorox wipes to every room in the building. Although the process of this task was tedious and time-consuming, the members and officers wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! Seeing the smiles on students’ and teachers’ faces make this club worth it! The process of making the Clorox Wipes is one of the many projects that Echos for Hope hosts. Kicking off the hectic school year with a project that gives back to everyone at Ravenwood, was a great way to welcome back old members of Echos for Hope and give new members an idea of how much you can give back in such a short amount of time! This is what Echos for Hope stands for … giving back to the community.
