Based in Sacramento California, Kicks4Keeps Nonprofit Organization is a youth-led 501(c)(3) working to promote microentrepreneurship by donating shoes to individuals from low-income communities globally to launch
their own small businesses. The shoes donated are given to children in developing countries at affordable prices while fostering economic prosperity. Currently over 4,000 pairs have been donated to nations such as Haiti, Honduras, Sierra Leone, and India with an economic impact of over $20,000 in donations. In terms of environmental impact, Kicks4Keeps service projects have saved approximately 124,110 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions that would be released when new shoes are manufactured and have kept 5,171.25 pounds of textiles out of landfills. Kicks4Keeps also delves into advocacy by holding webinar events, using social media platforms, publishing an informational blog, and interviewing those with similar missions to their own and knowledge to give. Additionally, during the brunt of the pandemic, 1000 ear-guards were also donated to frontline healthcare workers locally to help relieve the pain of wearing masks for 12+ hours a day. With 5 branches established across the Northern California region, Kicks4Keeps has 70+ regular volunteers, all working to provide the basic necessity of shoes to those in need.
