I became aware of Jumbled Dreams through our mutual affiliation with Dierks Bentley and the release of his album “The Mountain”.Ā Sydney and Jennifer were featured in Dierks’ music video for Woman, Amen for their work in the community.Ā I’m always looking for ways for my family and me to be involved in the community and getting to know Sydnee and Jennifer gave our family another opportunity to support those in need.
You Can Make A Difference!
Jumbled Dreams is here to bring out the good in others. Together we can make a difference in this world!
Our Causes
Jumbled Dreams supports the causes that you are passionate about. Your passion is our passion.
Our Story
Check out our vision, how Jumbled Dreams came to be and the story of our founder ā Teen, Sydnee Floyd.
I first heard of Jumbled Dreams when Sydnee and Jennifer starred in Dierks Bentleyās video for Woman Amen.Ā I was struck by Sydneeās passion and compassion. Their nonprofit organization immediately spoke to my heart and soul. Because of the work that Sydnee is doing, I now see the person standing on the street corner or sleeping in the park.Ā I know that he or she was once somebodyās daughter or son and that by supporting Jumbled Dreams I can help make this personās life just a little bit better.
The WE day opportunity provided us with an introduction! Your spirit and huge heart made us friends. Sydnee your desire to help others and to put your mission into action through Jumbled Dreams is such an accomplishment.Ā I am fascinated by the basic need that Jumbled Dreams fulfills – the human need.
The founder of Jumbled Dreams has a heart of gold, cares deeply, and she is wise beyond her years. She has taught me a lot about the homeless population and the importance of spreading love not hate. Everyone has a story and the smallest things such as mouthwash could make a difference. Itās not very often you come across truly selfless adults let alone teenagers so that is the reason I have chosen to support Sydnee and Jumbled Dreams!
Sydnee has such an exuberance for life and helping others that it is hard not to join in.Ā She has taught me so much about the plight of the homeless and about the importance of giving back and being part of a movement for good.Ā It is rare to find such understanding and compassion for other human beings at such a young age or any age for that matter!Ā Being a supporter of Jumbled Dreams has made MY life better!
I would have never known about Sydnee and mom Jennifer and their inspiring without Dierks Bentley.Ā Ā Dierks featured the mother-daughter duo in his “Woman, Amen” music video and I was truly inspired! When I saw how they helped others despite their own struggles, I wanted to help, too.Ā Thank you, Jennifer & Sydnee, for your compassion and determination to make a difference. Truly extraordinary human beings!
We found Jumbled Dreams through a recommendation on Facebook.Ā We knew right away we wanted our items to go here. Itās very hands-on, Sydnee and her mom Jennifer do the majority of the work. They spend their time with those in need – getting to know them, making them food, and all-around making them feel good.
Our Vision
Jumbled Dreams Changing Lives is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, support and guidance to persons in need.Ā Their needs are as jumbled as the dreams of the people who have those dreams. Ā Jumbled Dreams Changing Livess teaches youth, teens and families on how the kindness of one can greatly impact the lives of others and is committed to inspiring future generations to make a difference.Ā This is accomplished through working with different groups and organizations to help them understand how easy it can be to give back and make a difference.
While we work to help everyone with their dreams, Jumbled Dreams mission works primarily with those experiencing homelessness, hunger, bullying, childhood illness, and cancer.Ā Everyone is broken at times and thatās okay because itās through those cracks that we can see the goodness; through that goodness, we can make a dream come true and change a life.
Our Goal
It is because of these jumbled dreams that this organization is reaching out to individuals, groups and organizations to urge they set goals to help others.Ā Young people must be educated as to how they can change lives in the hope that they will continue those efforts throughout their life. Ā But many adults must also be encouraged in this process.Ā Each individual is encouraged to donate a minimum of $3 to $5 a month or more, if able, to a person in need, or to an organization of their choice, or to an organization selected by Jumbled Dreams.Ā One never knows how a small gift can make a big change in the life of the person helped
Through social media, our website and by word of mouth, we encourage others to join us toĀ donate to multiple causes.Ā Through these experiences, people are able to see their help is needed and a simple act can change a life.
The Outcome
We work to help those experiencing homelessness by providing toiletry packs, winter kits, gently used clothing and shoes; to help those experiencing hunger by providing fuel packs and meals.Ā In the future we plan to help those experiencing illness withĀ donations to help pay for medical expenses; to help those experiencing bullying by talking with different groups and individuals about bullying and how to overcome it; and to help those experiencing cancer by donating funds to support the mission for a cure while also supporting those who are experiencing the dreadful disease.
People are encouraged to write on our blog how they are working to help others and how we can do the same.
We are honored to be included in Dierks Bentley’s video, Woman, Amen…
Our Story
How did Jumbled Dreams come to be?
Since the age of four Sydnee has helped others.Ā Although limited by what she could do, she didnāt let her age squash her helping spirit.Ā āI canāt just sit here and watch our world suffer because of my age.ā When she turned 13, Sydnee decided she wanted to make her desire to help others a lifetime goal.Ā She took the steps to establish a non-profit organization, Jumbled Dreams Changing Lives.Ā āI know there are others out there who are wanting to help,Ā too, but are being limited because of their age, job, race, religion, or anything that is different about them. Ā We must help others when we can no matter what the situation.Ā We are all in this together.ā
All her life, Sydnee has tried to get others to realize that it doesnāt matter who you are or what you need, there is someone to help you, as well as someone you can help. That is the chain of Jumbled Dreams, an organization that strives to bring out the good in others and to show that together we can make a difference in this world!Ā Her idea was that everyone can help someone and to let that help be a start of a lifetime of volunteer service.Ā Knowing that the interests of people are as varied as the people, her idea for Jumbled Dreams was to identify volunteer opportunities and then recruit young people and educate them on how they can help change lives by volunteering for the particular cause.
Our Founder
How life experiences inspired a teenager to found Jumbled Dreams and to encourage others to get involved.
In 2018 Sydnee Floyd founded Jumbled Dreams when she was 13 years old.Ā By this time, she had already helped with numerous charitable causes.Ā She \used her allowance to sponsor a girl in Nicaragua.Ā She crocheted scarves and sold them to sponsor
a classroom at an orphanage in Uganda.Ā She also used her allowance to help provide meals for the homeless and needy in the community where she lived.Ā She helped her Mom provide needy children with toiletry bags for Christmas and to assist children in shopping for a Christmas gift for their parents.Ā She then worked with her Mom to organize and assist in providing backpacks for 500 elementary school age children in the county schools where they lived.Ā The college students who assisted in this program, Shoes for the Soul, washed each childās feet and placed new shoes and socks on the children before giving them a new backpack.Ā Each childās backpack contained supplies for the new school year.Ā There were other activities in which she participated including fund raisers for cancer, heart disease, Special Olympics, etc.
Until the age of 12, Sydnee lived in a town that was classified as disadvantaged by the Census Bureau. Her family were all employed, but many of families in the area lost their jobs when the coal mines closed down.Ā This left aĀ number of Sydneeās friends without adequate food or clothing.Ā Seeing that, Sydnee knew that she wanted to do something to help.Ā āBeing there in my hometown and seeing my own friends not have what they needed broke my heart. I knew right then that my goal in life was to help others in any way I can.Ā I will do whatever it takes to make a difference in this world.āĀ After moving to the Nashville area in 2016 and seeing the multitudes of needs in the area, Sydnee founded Jumbled Dreams. Ā Ā
Now at 17 years-old, she has only continued her passion of helping others and
making a difference in her community. From being featured by Country Superstar, Dierks Bentley, in his music video Woman Amen and seeing hands-on the need in her community, Ā Sydnee started Jumbled Dreams-Changing Lives at 13 years-old to inspire others to make a change in their community by finding their passions through various volunteer opportunities.
Since beginning Jumbled Dreams in 2018, Sydnee has raised over 107,300 pounds of food, 79,000 toiletries, over 22,000 articles of clothing, 10,000 school supplies, 5,000 toys, and 20,000 dollars to help her community. She has also partnered with over 30 organizations across the world to spread the mission of Jumbled Dreams.
In the past year alone, Sydnee has had the opportunity to start an Anti-bullying and Suicide Awareness Podcast called Positive Dreams Project, in partnership with Positive Change Project,
in order to spread awareness about key issues like bullying, suicide, and mental health.
She has also started her own kindness calendar with small, attainable opportunities to be kind everyday. Through all of this, Sydnee is blessed every single day to be apart of a change much larger than her.
About Jumbled Dreams
In the 8th grade, Sydnee served in her schoolās Student Council. The school was involved in multiple community service activities including food drives, a school supplies drives and reading garden for a school in Gatlinburg that was destroyed in the 2016 fires, collecting over 5,000 items to make toiletry bags for the homeless in Nashville, and, of course, teacher appreciation.
Upon enrolling in high school Sydnee started a club to create an awareness among her fellow students of the many volunteer opportunities available in the area.Ā Through Jumbled Dreams, Sydnee identifies those volunteer opportunities and then recruits young people and educates them on how they can help change lives by volunteering for the particular cause.Ā Ā To date over 100 volunteers are working to make a difference in the lives of others in our community.
Jumbled Dreams doesnāt support just one cause but many.Ā There are needs everywhere.Ā Over the past two years Jumbled Dreams has worked with over 30 different agencies to organize activities involving over 200 volunteers to collect, pack and distribute 107,300 pounds of food, 70,000 toiletries, 10,000 school supplies, 22,000 articles of clothing, shoes, coats, 5,000 toys, and over 20,000 dollars for the homeless and low income families.Ā Volunteers also cooked meals and served them to the needy; helped needy parents shop for Christmas gifts for their children; collected school supplies for children of deployed soldiers; and assisted in clean-up after the homeless showered in a mobile shower unit.Ā Special assistance was also given to tornado victims.Ā Currently, Jumbled Dreams volunteers are seeking gift cards to fast food restaurants to distribute to the needy and homeless in our area.Ā This will help the hungry to have food and will help the restaurants whose business has suffered during the Pandemic.Ā Jumbled Dreams has also partnered with other organizations on various causes including bullying, blindness, Downs Syndrome, children, education/school, arts, disabilities, and orphans.
Through social media, Jumbled Dreams website, and by word of mouth, others are encouraged to join the organization at events, donate to multiple causes, and post facts and information about the realities of the world.Ā Through these experiences, people are able to see their help is needed and a simple act can change the lives of those who are helped ā the homeless, the less fortunate, and the ones who simply need a smile or someone to show an interest in them.
We hope to bring out the good in people and to show that together we can make a difference in this world!Ā We seek to shine a light on ways persons can donate, volunteer, or learn about other organizations. There are many who are passionate about changing the world, focusing on others, and giving all they have.Ā This is how we change the world — especially when kids are recruited as volunteers and educated on how they can help change lives throughout their life. Ā They have more power than anyone thinks they have, and they can make a huge difference.Ā So many believe that if you canāt give a lot of money or sponsor a huge project that what you do wonāt make a difference; this is so far from true.Ā There are many who are passionate about changing the world, focusing on others, and giving all they have.Ā This is how miracles happen; this is how lives are changed; this is how we change the world.
So, what does Jumbled Dreams Changing Lives do?Ā We change lives or, at least, every effort is made to do that.
